Scholarships for Christian Schools.

Legacy Deo SGO helps faith-based schools grow scholarship funds that open the door to Christ-centered education.

The Education Freedom Tax Credit (EFTC), also known as the Federal Scholarship Tax Credit (FSTC), is a new federal program that allows individuals to receive a 100% Federal Tax Credit—up to $1,700 per taxpayer—when they donate to an approved Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO), such as the one administered by Legacy Deo.

These funds are used to provide scholarships for eligible students attending participating Christian schools in Texas. Unlike traditional voucher programs funded by state dollars, these scholarships are funded by voluntary charitable gifts from individual taxpayers. The EFTC program can operate alongside any other tuition assistance programs your school currently offers.

An SGO (Scholarship Granting Organization) is a nonprofit entity authorized to receive tax credited donations and award scholarships to students who meet federal eligibility guidelines.

Legacy Deo will serve as an SGO for Christian schools in the entire state of Texas.

Rooted in the belief that God is the giver of all gifts, Legacy Deo inspires generosity that impacts life forever by helping donors, families, and schools build lasting legacies of faith, stewardship, and eternal impact. Through Legacy Deo SGO, scholarship giving becomes more than financial aid—it becomes a ministry that expands access to Christian education for generations.  Legacy Deo SGO has already received verbal commitments from 26 schools. Learn more about how you can participate in the Education Freedom Tax Credit program and help expand access to Christian education as a donor or school administrator.

*Legacy Deo SGO has been approved at the federal level. Texas has indicated its intent to opt-in to the EFTC program and participate but has not yet published a state list or the procedures it will use to develop its state list. Legal counsel is guiding Legacy Deo SGO through the remaining state-level approval process.
